Gingerly Garnished
Immediately after discovering half hitch review, I found your site. I didn’t hope that a simple page that it looks would provide a whole lot dazzling and overwhelming post. Keep on undertaking a very good task. I’m certain many people would rely on you!

Chandeliers in the Bathroom

I am loving this post I found on Apartment Therapy. You can’t get anymore elegant than having a luxurious chandelier hanging in your bathroom.
image

“Chandeliers can add a touch of class and sparkle to any room. And who wouldn’t like a bit of elegance in the water closet? Actually, chandeliers fit with any style from modern mansions to industrial lofts.”

image
It can be hard to achieve a sense of elegance in a bathroom depending on where your bathroom is placed in the house, our how big it is. Lighting is where you’ll find the biggest bang for your buck and usually with the least effort.

ETSY Tuesdays: Element Clay Studio

Well, it’s Tuesday, which means it’s time for my first “ETSY Tuesday” feature!

This ceramic interpretation of a hydrangea caught my eye within seconds. Element Clay Studio created this masterpiece in a wall hanging.

image

“This little beauty is fit for the taking...a micro version of my large tiles! Now you can have Hydrangea in the small size!
Hand made with the finest porcelain clay, it measures a diminutive 5” square and a few inches deep. I left the surface unglazed, as to achieve that ethereal quality of translucency that only porcelain can give.”

image
You can have a room of entirely traditional things and then throw a few pieces like this in there, and you’ve got instant style. Check out more of Element Clay Studios fantastic designs at their ETSY store.

First and 20: A New Concept

image
This past week, my husband Tory Hobson released the website First & 20, a Collection of iPhone Home Screens. He has been working on this site for a while now and has interviewed some amazing talent to showcase their home screens.

What’s with the name? Well, it’s the home screen, which is the “first” screen on your iPhone and there are “20” allowable application spaces on that home screen, which is usually where people place their “go to” applications.

If you get a chance, check out First & 20. You’ll be stuck for hours looking at what these talents show as their can’t live without applications.

And...just in case you’re interested (which you’re probably not, ha)...here is my home screen and a little explanation (like Tory has done for his site) of my apps.
image

From left to right starting from the top:

1. My website - For obvious reasons
2. Tory’s Design Website - Again, for obvious reasons
3. Ego - It’s an analytics tool to see numbers of page visits, views, etc. to your website.
4. Ipod - I need my music near me at all times!
5. Tweetie - I’m a social media fanatic. It’s my favorite Twitter application. For me, it’s the easiest to use, and read.
6. Facebook - Is there anyone who isn’t on Facebook? It really is how I stay in touch with everyone. Of course, this will change when I convince the world to get off of Facebook and just use Twitter.
7. Camera - I’m always taking photos. I have the 1st gen. iPhone, so the quality is not the best, but I’ve caught some great moments with this little phone.
8. Sepia Camera - Love the old fashioned photo look
9. Vintage B&W - Different effect for photos, and who doesn’t love a good black and white photo?
10. Vintage Shift - Probably my favorite effect of the iPhone photo filter apps.
11. Photos - I obviously need to be able to access all of these great photos I’ve taken with my 5 million photo filters!
12. Weather - I have entered all of the weather locations of my friends and family in the weather app. If it’s raining in Texas where most of my family lives, I like to call them and tell them house beautiful and sunny it is here in Maryland.
13. Clock - I use the alarm function every night!
14. Fandango - Always like to see what’s playing as far as movies go in my area, watch trailers, and read reviews!
15. Yelp - If you don’t have this app, get it. It’s free! It has a plethora of information about pretty much anything in your area, or whatever zip code you may be visiting. And mostly, it’s tips on where to go from the locals.
16. Notes - Another obvious app. I use it a lot to make notes about a good song I hear, or an idea that pops into my head!
17. Phone - Duh!
18. Mail - Addicted to checking email...bad habit
19. Safari - My browser, which I use daily
20. Messages - Texting is a way of life for me.
