When doing a little internet research on entertaining, I ran across a plethora of checklists available from Martha Stewart.
She has “celebrations checklists” for events from cookie swaps to bridal showers, “cleaning and home care checklists” for everything from moving to packing and “stocking up checklists” for the kitchen pantry to your first-aid kit.
All are easy to download and the best part, they’re free!
Thanks Martha! I hope this helps (as it will help me) in getting your home ready for the holidays and all of the fun events to come.
Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Who doesn’t love the scent of lavender?
I do! These lavender-filled sachets can be used in a multitude of ways. The Lavender Road’s ETSY shop recommends giving them as a hostess gift, closet freshener or sleep inducer under your pillow! They also mention another benefit which I did not know about...moth repellent. How cool!
I almost always put a dryer sheet or two in my luggage when traveling to keep my clothes smelling nice and clean, but these sachets would be a great alternative!
“These Pretty Little Pillows are a beautiful way to add a lovely scent to any room of your home. They would make a wonderful gift for yourself or a friend.
Each set of Pretty Little Pillows is made from 100% linen. They are filled with lavender and a touch of flax seed. The flax seed makes them feel great...nice and squishy! They stack nicely and look great tossed in a bowl together. Each one measures 4 inches”
Check out The Lavender Road’s Shop for more great finds!

Just got back from a wonderful vacation in Pass-A-Grille Beach, Florida. I’m working on some fun posts, and realized while I was gone that I missed my 1-year blog anniversary! I started http://www.meganhobson.com on October 11, 2008. This was my 1st post.

So, in case you haven’t read my blog...my one year anniversary is this coming Monday, May 25th. We always love to go places that we have not been before. I love the south, and he loves southern food...so where else would be go but Savannah, Georgia?
We are so excited to head down to this historic and beautiful city we always hear so much about. We do not have too much planned because we want to keep it spontaneous. The few things we do have planned are:
1. Eating a good southern meal at The Lady and Sons restaurant (Paula Deen ya’ll)
2. Visiting Tybee Island. We hear it’s a must.
3. Touring some ghostly areas and old cemeteries (romantic huh? - this of course was my idea) and then
4. Tory has a surprise dinner planned at a restaurant in Savannah on the night of our anniversary!
I am so excited to find out what it is. He’s pretty good at surprising me and I’m pretty good at letting him keep it that way.
I will be sharing photos from our trip when I return. If anyone has anymore advice on where to go, and what to do...please share!

Looking for an unexpected, out of the ordinary gift for your Valentine this year? You have to visit the site...Excitations! I actually bought a gift for my husband through this site for Christmas, and he LOVED it!
If you live in or near the cities of Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Las Vegas, Los Angeles Miami, New York, Philadelphia, Phoenix, San Diego, San Fransciso, Tampa or Washington DC - you’re in luck!
They offer everything from a Jet fighter experience, Seal Trainer
experience...to a secret agent driving experience. So cool! I would
personally love the Iron Chef experience, but I’m not dropping hints.
Check them out!
