As I said...one of my resolutions this year was to learn the ins-and-outs of my lovely new camera, and really work on my skills. I spent a couple of days taking wedding related photos for a friend of mine. Here is the link - Megan Hobson Photography...just a name we threw on the blog for now.
Let me know what you think. They’re VERY amateur.

I had the privilege of assisting Maria Cooke, Owner of Ritzy Bee Events, LLC, with the day of set-up for wedding of Jennifer and Lloyd on January 6 of this year. It was so much fun, and is definitely up there with of the most elegant and fun weddings I’ve seen or been to. Laura Kay of Laura Kay Photography was the fabulous photographer. She took the most beautiful and emotionally moving photos, and has posted a few, as well as a little story about the couple and their wedding on her blog.
My favorite details of the wedding were, of course...the beautiful dress that Jennifer wore, the arch of swords, and the poker room that the bride surprised her new husband with later in the evening.

Through the lovely Mary Swenson (Editor at Kirtsy), I’ve discovered one of the most beautiful and inspirational blogs around called “It’s Pretty Good”. She takes fabulous photos of pretty and random things, and puts a special message relating to each. I love logging in each day to see what will be next. You really can find inspiration in the little things...here are a few of my favorites!

I hope everyone had a great Christmas like I did! Spending time with friends and family is always the best gift I could recieve, and I definitley had my fill this past week. Christmas eve started at my sister and brother-in-law’s place. We had some awesome Italian food, lots of wine, and Susie’s boyfriend David brought his guitar and we did a little kareoke all night long.
Christmas morning was wonderful. It was me and Tory’s 1st Christmas as newlywed’s. We had talked about keeping our gift limit low, knowing we’d both go over it. Well...he really did. He bought me a brand new Nikon D90 camera. He knows that I have a serious love for photography and have been dabbling in it for years. It was the best gift he has ever given me. I have to admit, I cried (yes I do get emotional people). Now I can really start taking some great photos and stop using my 8-year-old hand held sony sureshot (although you’ve been good to me bulldog—this is what my friends named it, because it was rather bulky). Christmas dinner was at Tory’s Grandmother’s house...we had the usual fare...ham, green bean casserole, etc. All was delicious…
A couple of days later my Birthday rolled around on the 27th. We went to a local brewery here called the Flying Dog Brewery. We were supposed to take a tour, but we got there too late, and decided to just drink. We hit the jackpot! You pay $5.00 for a glass, and you get 6 beer caps (or drink tickets). They fill your beer up half way for the tasting...so if you really think about it, that’s 6 beers for $5.00 bucks. I only tried one...it was called “Doggie Style,” seriously. After that we went to eat Mexican food at Cacique...YUM. I will never love any other food more than Mexican food!
Enjoy some photos from Christmas....
Tory and his Mom...with their iPhones of course
It’s me!
Tory’s Gramma (aka - Mama)
Tory’s sister, and bro-in-law
Wish my side of the family could have been here to celebrate with us! Miss you guys, and we’ll see you VERY soon...hopefully. Love you all!
Now, onto New Years on the slopes at Seven Springs. Oh yes!

The San Francisco based Photographer Ben Chrisman captured one of the most beautiful weddings I’ve seen to date, and it all took place in city hall. Ben makes the nuptials of Erin + Chris look like an old-fashion film, and has completely captured the quiet beauty of their day.
There are no words, except maybe “stunning”
