The modern bride and groom have so many useful tools these days in planning their wedding. You can pretty much do anything on your phone that you had previously done from your computer or on a spreadsheet.
I have researched and found the top 5 (in my opinion) bride apps that would not only help in the planning process, but save a lot of time.
1. iWedding Deluxe:
iWedding Deluxe is an organizer app which uses many of the built in features of the iPhone and iPod Touch to help with the organization of your big day thus keeping all the vital information at your fingertips.
2. Bride Guide:
A wedding planner with everything that you need to plan a successful and stress-free wedding.
3. Wedding 911by theKnot:
Think of it as your on-the-go source for expert wedding advice—from when to cut the cake to how to line up your bridal party at the ceremony.
4. Wedding Wire:
Your planning details are always at your fingertips with WeddingWire’s iPhone and iPod Touch application. Tracking payments, finding local vendors and managing your to-do list has never been easier.
5. Gotta ETSY:
If you’re not using ETSY as a resource, you’re missing out! They have everything wedding related that you’re looking for, even a section dedicated to the event.
Visit the Apple Store and download iTunes to find these great apps and get planning!

Who doesn’t love the scent of lavender?
I do! These lavender-filled sachets can be used in a multitude of ways. The Lavender Road’s ETSY shop recommends giving them as a hostess gift, closet freshener or sleep inducer under your pillow! They also mention another benefit which I did not know about...moth repellent. How cool!
I almost always put a dryer sheet or two in my luggage when traveling to keep my clothes smelling nice and clean, but these sachets would be a great alternative!
“These Pretty Little Pillows are a beautiful way to add a lovely scent to any room of your home. They would make a wonderful gift for yourself or a friend.
Each set of Pretty Little Pillows is made from 100% linen. They are filled with lavender and a touch of flax seed. The flax seed makes them feel great...nice and squishy! They stack nicely and look great tossed in a bowl together. Each one measures 4 inches”
Check out The Lavender Road’s Shop for more great finds!

Martha Stewart is was an obvious choice of mine to get a reference on roasting that all important Thanksgiving bird. With Turkey Day being right around the corner, I can only imagine how many first-time bird bakers are out there.
How to Properly Roast a Turkey
One of the biggest arguements is “to stuff, or not to stuff” the bird.
Personally, I like dressing, not stuffing. Now, my Mom always “stuffed” the bird, but threw it away after the bird was roasted because none of us would eat it.
Martha does share a bit about stuffing your bird in this article with the classic breaded stuffing mix. However, if it just isn’t for you, remember that you will need to put SOMETHING inside the Turkey. The main reason is for flavor, another, for moisture. You can really get creative here and this can obviously be used for the everyday roast chicken as well. I’ve used lemons, onion, carrots, etc...just make sure whatever you’re using as your stuffing is sturdy enough to hold up to the cooking time for your bird.
Happy Roasting!

I learned about this outstanding event by Kids Are Heroes and Mary Kate McKenna Photography via Twitter. Please find the time in your schedule if you’re in the Frederick area (or surrounding) to come out and support such a great cause.
(Photo: Mary Kate McKenna Photography)
“On Saturday, November 14, Baker Park in Frederick, MD will be the site where you can get phenomenal holiday pictures taken and help out a great cause at the same time. Sign up for a slot for only $40.00 and you will get 15 minutes worth of Mary Kate’s artistry along with two high resolution photos. These can be used for holiday greeting cards, family albums, mantle displays or whatever other purpose you might have. Bring your pet(s) too and have them join in the fun. If you would like all the photos, a disk can be purchased for an additional $30.00.”
